About Us

Monica Luque began her career as an architect back in 1991 while  attending college at New York Institute of Technology and working for Nakrosis Design in SoHo, but found her true passion for real estate in 1995 once she discovered that she had an unrealized aptitude for marketing and sales. Although her architectural training served to inform her knowledge, she cultivated the art of negotiating a deal by working one-on-one with developers. She led a team of 50 agents who closed 70 New Developments and in 2007 transitioned to a concentration in Resales at Douglas Elliman inSince then she excelled in growing her resale business to a level in which her team has become one of the top in the industry.

Monica confesses that her formula necessitates exercising patience and perseverance in every transaction in order to achieve the highest selling price, rather than pushing a seller to accept less money for a quick turnaround and then moving on to the next. Her manner instead is to deliver a record price to her seller by executing a sound and thorough strategy.

For over 20 years she has diligently augmented her education by taking advanced courses in real estate, including marketing and advertising. The propensity to interpret certain nuances and to utilize her omniscience in delineating the optimum approach has resulted in multiple accolades and testimonials from grateful clientele. She is adept at understanding the big picture and precisely how to navigate in order to accomplish the most successful outcome.

At this point in her real estate career, Monica’s over 2 decades of experience as well as her expertise in sales and promotion, have earned her numerous industry awards, citations, and a ranking in the top percentile of real estate agents companywide. She is profoundly honored to have been acclaimed the winner of The Deal of the Year in 2017 from the Real Estate Board of New York. In 2018 Monica was once again up for the Deal of the Year, which cannot be awarded to the same agent twice, yet having a worthy entry is nonetheless a feat.

Having grown in New York City, with studies abroad in Europe and  South Americ, Monica’s multicultural background has allowed her to assemble a powerful international network and successfully serve clients from around the globe. She also takes infinite pride in having a prominent liaison through Douglas Elliman to renowned global real estate giant Knight Frank. Here at home, she has been a resident of the Upper Westside since 1987 and has managed to expand her presence in the brokerage community by spearheading the Luque Team. As a group of real estate professionals, all with diverse backgrounds, she has consolidated their talents under one all-encompassing entity. She is proud of their ability to work cohesively in order to effectively offer their clientele a full range of services including staging, marketing, and advertising. With the Luque Team’s base of operation at 2142 Broadway at West 75th Street, at the veritable center of the Westside, sellers receive prime visibility for their homes via a large plate glass window display that fronts the Avenue.

Monica is equally dedicated to her philanthropic efforts, which include her role as coordinator of the New York program for Kidsave International (www.kidsave.org), which helps find adoptive parents for orphaned children over 10 years old around the world. The organization’s mission is to ensure that kids grow up in families and not in institutions.
